Florida Keys Parks Guide

Bahia Honda State Park - Florida

state park web page  |  keysweb.info travel guide

Regarded as one of the finest beaches in the Keys, Bahia Honda has several beach areas, oceanside and bayside, all with bathrooms, changing rooms, picnic areas and shelters. Also look for several excellent camping areas w/ full facilities, a boat harbor and ramp. gift shop, concessions and more.
What are they missing? We dunno......

This digitally enhanced photo (we got a little artsy here) shows a couple catching some rays - a very popular pastime at Bahia Honda and other South Florida beaches. Taken in the first week of February, the temp was a balmy 74 degrees.
We also noted, they have paved parking at the beach areas and boardwalks to the beach to help protect the seagrass and shoreline areas from erosion. The beaches were very clean and overall, the park was spotless- a great family destination....

There is a small, affordable fee for park entry.

This 524 acre park has cabins for rent as well. Lots of room for cycling, walking, fishing, kayaking....

Check out the official park website (see link above), they have recently upgraded the site and provide pretty much all the info you can use. Reservations for campsites can be made in advance -  you will need to.
